Davies started his career at Reading, featuring 4 times for the Championship club during the 2009-10 campaign. During his time with the Royals, Davies featured for a number of Football League clubs on loan including Aldershot, Wycombe and Bristol Rovers, before leaving to join Crawley in the summer of 2011, playing a crucial part in their promotion from League Two. The following season, Davies found first team opportunities hard to come by and dropped back down to League Two, firstly on loan at Aldershot for the third time in his career, then permanently with Oxford United.

During his time with Reading, Davies also earned 3 caps for the Republic of Ireland Under 21s.

At the end of 2013-14 campaign, Davies dropped out of the Football League, featuring firstly for Dunstable Town, before spells at Wealdstone and Oxford City, where he was named captain and from whom he joined Chelmsford.
