Rod Stringer this evening boosted his striking options with the signing of Rhys Murphy.
The 27-year-old forward started his career in the youth setup at Arsenal, but failed to make a senior appearances for the Gunners. After a couple of brief loan spells in the Football League, he joined Dutch side Telstar in 2012, before returning to England to sign for Dagenham & Redbridge.
14 goals in 41 games earned him a move to Oldham Athletic, before joining Forest Green Rovers in 2016.
A few more loan spells followed and Murphy eventually left Oldham, signing for Gillingham in January 2018.
Will only a solitary Gills appearance under his belt, he left the club at the end of the season, linking up with the Clarets after impressing on trial.
