City come from behind to win

Second half goals from Michael Spillane and Scott Fenwick saw Chelmsford City come from behind to beat Poole and move back into the play-off places.

It wasn’t a great start for Rod Stringer’s side who went behind almost immediately, with Gillespie giving struggling Poole the lead after just 2 minutes.

It was a laboured first half for the Clarets who struggled to create much in the way of clear chances, despite racking up 8 corners during the first 45 minutes.

Some no doubt strong words from Stringer at the break saw the home side switch things up in the second period though, and Michael Spillane brought the scores level when he headed in from Taylor Miles’ corner on 66 minutes.

Scott Fenwick made it two goals in two on 75 minutes to complete the turnaround and earn a vital three points for Chelmsford, who move back into the play-offs at the expense of Welling.

It’s still all to play for with just a few games to go with 4th – 9th separated by just 5 points and fighting it out over three play-off places between them.
