Clarets comfortably overcome Bowers

Chelmsford City progressed in this season’s Essex Senior Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win over Bowers & Pitsea.

A first half penalty spot double from Kudus Oyenuga put the visitors two up at the break. First, Mike West was fouled in the box, before Bagasan Graham effort was handled late on, with the Clarets striker converting both opportunities from twelve yards.

After the hour mark, Rod Stringer’s side increased their lead when Matt Johnson converted Oyenuga’s cross, with the midfielder doubling his tally barely 4 minutes later to make it 4-0.

The Clarets weren’t done there either, when Mark Haines scored his 5th Clarets goal in 283 games to make it 5-0.

Determined not to miss out, substitute Chris Dickson rounded out the scoring in the final minutes when he headed home Danny Green’s header to make it 6.
