City have tonight added QPR midfielder Joshua Wallen to the ranks for the remainder of the season.
Wallen’s arrival coincides with the departure of Scott Davies, who left the club on Tuesday to sign for Slough, a team much closer to where he lives.
Lee Barnard also departed the club today, albeit on loan, as the former Spurs and Southampton man signed for Maldon & Tiptree, where Clarets midfielder Max Porter is also on loan.
Wallen, who is a central midfielder with good passing range, joined QPR from his native Australia, entering the club’s academy system at 19 from Palm Beach Soccer Club.
The Australian signed an 18 month contract with QPR back in 2016, followed by a further one year extension; a deal which is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, meaning this move is vital for Wallen to convince his parent club that he still has a future at Loftus Road.
The signing is the second in as many days for Rod Stringer, who also added goalkeeper Kleton Perntreou to his squad as cover for Sam Beasant during the push towards the play-offs.
